“Control in a sea of chaos--that's what the nutrition plan has been for me. As soon as the gym opened back up last year I started going 6 days a week, but I knew I needed more. I signed up for the nutrition plan shortly after that in July 2020. Over the years, I have tried all different diet plans, and nothing I have tried has ever felt like something I could sustain long term.
NON-SCALE VICTORIES:
More energy during WODs to Rx workouts and PR lifts.
Ability to take breaks from plan, then jump right back in with no setbacks.
Ran first 5K and now training for a half marathon.
I've continued the macro-based plan for over a year now. My macro numbers have changed over time to accommodate my personal goals to lose body fat and increase muscle mass. I've taken breaks for vacations or special events, but as long as I get right back to it, I've not had any major setbacks. My results have been great, and I'm currently working to maintain. My body fat % is as low as it was when I was playing college basketball in my 20's, and I'll be 40 this summer. I have more energy during WOD's and have been able to RX workouts and PR lifts and benchmarks. I ran my first 5k last Thanksgiving and have since been running for leisure. I would NEVER have run the distances I have without fueling my body properly. I have been coaching my kids' sports teams, and I plan to train for a half marathon this coming spring. As a parent, I want to be a good example for them of how to make healthy choices. This has been a lifestyle change I don't plan to give up any time soon.”
